· Current enrollment at an institution of higher education
· Good academic standing
· Grade Point Average of 3.00 or higher, or equivalent
· Completion of a minimum of 2 terms at undergraduate level
· English proficiency: if non-native speaker, applicants need to submit a min. TOEFL score of 80 iBT or an IELTS score of 6.
· Applicants for UCSC coursework in Italian must provide an Italian Language Proficiency Report
1) Complete the downloadable application
2) Submit the completed application along with a recent transcript of all institutions of higher education attended and one academic reference
3) A TOEFL or IELTS score report for non-native speakers of English
4) An Italian language proficiency report - part 1 and part 2 - if applying for UCSC courses taught in Italian
5) An approval form signed by your home university academic advisor or study abroad advisor.
6) The program application fee of €75 payable by credit card online.
7) Make sure that the application reaches the UCSC International Relations Office by the indicated deadline for the term you wish to apply.

You may send the application and supplemental materials electronically, by fax or by regular mail. Make sure you print the application forms once they are filled in as the data inserted in the fields may not be saved.
NB: Please do not e-mail a saved copy of the application forms as the data you've entered will not be retained. You will need to either print the forms and scan them again, or print the form in a pdf and e-mail it as an attachment.
An email will be sent to you acknowledging receipt of your application and notifying you if there are any elements of your application missing. Once complete and reviewed, you will receive an official letter of admission electronically and by mail.
Once UCSC will have reviewed and processed your requested, admitted students will receive an admission letter and conditions of acceptance. Upon acceptance, you will be required to submit full payment of the tuition fee for the first semester of participation. Those enrolling for the full-year will be asked to pay for the second semester in November, that is before the end of their first-semester.
Note that the tuition fee and program application are payable to UCSC. Housing costs are paid separately either to the UCSC housing provider or, if housing is found independently of UCSC, directly to the renter. As registered UCSC students, a discount is available on meal tickets for use at the university cafeteria.
