UCSC Regular Courses, undergraduate or graduate, are taught in Italian. To search for courses you can consult our on-line ECTS guide. This guide is available both in Italian and English and lists the complete syllabus of each course. Please remember that as international students you can take any course within any faculty at any level, Laurea Triennale, coded LT, (undergraduate) and Laurea Specialistica, coded LS, (graduate). No pre-enrolment or official registration is needed prior to arrival.
You can also use the ECTS guide to modify your Learning Agreement, the study contract between you and your university. Remember that students are required to attach it to their application form.
Please note that some faculties have only annual courses. It is therefore very important to agree with the professor as soon as possible on the content of the exam you should take at the end of your stay.

EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM (ECTS)
ECTS credits are a numerical value (between 1 and 60) allocated to course units to describe the student workload required to complete them. They reflect the quantity of work each course unit requires in relation to the total quantity of work necessary to complete a full year of academic study at the institution, that is, lectures, practical work, seminars, tutorials, fieldwork, private study - in the library or at home - and examinations or other assessment activities. ECTS is thus based on a full student workload and not limited to contact hours only.
ECTS credits are a relative rather than an absolute measure of a student's workload. They only specify how much of a year's workload a course unit represents at the institution or department allocating the credits.
In ECTS, 60 credits represent the workload of an academic year of study and normally 30 credits for a semester and 20 credits for a term. ECTS credits ensure that the program will be reasonable in terms of workload for the period of study abroad.
The Italian word for ECTS credits is CFU "crediti formativi universitari".
1 CFU corresponds to 1 ECTS.
